Navigating the digital future of HR and people: Wrapping up HR Technologies UK 2024

Introduction

After another year of planning, preparing and perspiration, HR Technologies UK opened its doors at ExCeL London on the 17th of April, 2024. HR & people professionals from all over the UK and beyond poured into the exhibition hall, and so began two days packed full of fresh insights, brand new connections and a free cookie or two.

With a bit of time having passed since the event, we’d like to look back on what happened across those 48 hours. It’ll be difficult, but we’ll try to squeeze it all in!

The Exhilarating Exhibition

The industry’s most prominent players and up-and-coming challengers brought their A-game to their stands. It was incredible to see the creativity brought to the small slices of their businesses as they showed off their fantastic tech solutions. Everywhere we looked, we could see new partnerships being formed, information being imparted and strangers becoming friends.

That’s not to mention all the exciting activities taking place! We spotted racing simulators, whack-a-mole games, and enough sweet treats to give Willy Wonka a run for his money!

The Captivating Keynotes

We were simply blown away by the sessions delivered by our roster of spectacular speakers. In our first Keynote Theatre, chaired by the incomparable Christine Armstrong, things kicked off to an inspiring start with Alex Scott MBE, Broadcaster & Former Professional Footballer. Alex’s incredible (and hilarious!) story helped set the tone for the next two days – one of ambition, teamwork, and lifting each other up.

With further fantastic sessions from the likes of Emmanuelle Jugon, Viktoria Mayer and Claire Harper (to name only a few), we learned everything an HR professional needs to know in 2024. From TA to AI to DEI, there were no stones left unturned!

Meanwhile, our second Keynote Theatre gave visitors the opportunity to join interactive sessions with industry leaders like Jon Ingham and Bob Rehill, whose experience and expertise let them provide tailored guidance to those present.

The Super Start-Up Showdown

Following HealthKey’s victory last year, there was a big act to follow for our fresh batch of Start-Ups. And we can confidently say they didn’t disappoint! Hosted once again by industry thought leader Bill Boorman, the Start-Up Showdown returned on day 1 with our 10 Start-Ups presenting their hot-off-the-press technology to our panel of expert judges in a series of heats.

After much deliberation, the five finalists were announced: Alda, Inploi, Mimosa, ScottyAI and Welliba. This great group of disruptors then took to the stage in our second Keynote Theatre on day 2 to battle it out in hopes of being crowned the winner.

While it was a tough challenge for our judges to decided, only one company could come out on top...

The Spectacular Seminars

The Keynotes weren’t the only place to learn about the most exciting innovations taking place in workplace tech. In fact, who would be better to tell you all about them than the ones who are producing them?

In our four Seminar theatres, our service providers took to the stage to demonstrate the developments in their software solutions. Whether it was UKG showing you how to build your company’s culture, Workday proving how AI can boost your talent mobility or SD Worx teaching you about the transformational role of data analytics in HR, each one of these seminar sessions was jam-packed with actionable advice from our market-leading businesses.
