Emily Johnson is a Senior Privacy and AI Compliance Manager at Deel, where she manages global compliance requirements, working cross-functionally to navigate international legal requirements, optimize privacy and support innovation at Deel.
Emily is a passionate legal expert holding a Master’s degree in privacy and AI regulation from the University of Edinburgh. Emily is currently in the process of finalizing her PhD on GDPR compliance and employer of record services at the University of Vienna. Prior to Deel, Emily led data protection and ethics requirements on EU research projects on the development of new technologies to support medical research and law enforcement operations. Emily has written expert papers for big tech and NGOs and continues to publish in academic journals in the areas of privacy and AI compliance.
